Quick Tips: Baby Steps

I’m sure that for most of us screenwriting is our passion. But going from Page 1 to that elusive THE END seems pretty daunting, right? Worry not!

Although it may seem tempting to blitzkrieg your way through a script, aiming for 10 pages a day or something equally fantastic, it can also lead to a bad case of burnout and maybe a few hours’ of writers’ block. Or a few days.

And that’s bad. Not what we want.

So instead, set yourself a small goal each day. Maybe 3 pages, maybe 5, maybe a full scene, it’s up to you! And make sure to stick to it, regardless of whether you think it’s good or bad writing you’re turning out! If you keep yourself organized by this system – little baby steps each day – then soon you’ll realize that you are making great progress!
